There will be some Kion and Fuli moments in this, but it will not be explicitly romantic and will focus more on their friendship this time. I might make it a bit more of a KiFu fic later, but it might also stay purely platonic. I'll leave it up to interpretation for now.
It was another typical day for the Lion Guard, as they raced across the plains of the Pride Lands in an attempt to prevent Janja and his hyenas from hunting the zebra herd. She then picked up speed and ran ahead at a much faster pace, while the egret simply saluted with his wing to the lion cub and flew on ahead. Kion looked at the hippo and honey badger that were still with him and instructed them by saying, "you two are with me. We're going to try and cut them off and take out the hyenas.
Further up ahead, Janja and his hyenas are heard cackling as they chase the poor, frightened and confused zebra closer and closer to the border, biting at their heels to keep them moving together. Before Janja knew it, he had been rammed by the cheetah, knocking him away from the herd. She proceeded to do this with the other five hyenas that were chasing the equine herd, before looking to the sky, where Ono flew close by.
She smirked. Whilst Janja and his clan tried to catch up, he growled angrily as he saw Fuli and Ono redirect the herd in the opposite direction of the destination he had intended. After them! The second he said this, however, he felt himself being forced into the ground with a grunt.
The hyenas stopped chasing after the wildebeest and turned around, beginning to charge towards the Prince of the Pride Lands. Kion simply smirked, thinking to himself, 'perfect'. The strongest of the Guard looked behind him when he came to a stop and saw three more hyenas preparing to attack him, but he simply smirked. The hyenas looked at each other, confused by the hippo's words, until they heard a voice shout, "you betcha, Big B!
When the first one tried to get up and tackle him, Bunga ducked, causing the hyena to crash into his ally, before they both crashed into their other ally. Digging his claws into the ground, his eyes narrowed as he took in a deep breath, summoning all his power, then unleashing it with an almighty Roar of the Elders.
None of the hyenas could even hope to resist it as they were sent flying toward the Outlands, their cries fading as they disappeared from sight.
Kion eventually relaxed, his lungs still breathing deeply as they did after he used the Roar. That's never going to change! Well, since we've dealt with them, should we go see how Fuli and Ono are getting on? As was typically the case, the landing for the hyenas was not a gentle one, their bodies careening into the ground with a thud as they landed, one atop of the other.
Janja grumbled as he lifted himself out from the pile of his comrades, shaking his hind leg gingerly. Turning around, he saw two skinks, one yellowy-orange with darker stripes and a blue tongue sticking out, and the other dark red with a deep purple underbelly. How many is it? Scar's waiting for you- better not keep him waiting. As the skinks scuttled away, Janja snarled to himself. This won't take long… hopefully. Janja walked away, heading into a nearby cave.
The heat was high due to the lava below. Looking on the walls, Janja spotted the two skinks from before, alongside a number of other skinks of varying colours, staring smugly as he trudged his way towards the centre.
As he did so, a huge series of flames shot out of the lava, letting off an almost evil roar as they flickered. This didn't last long, as they quickly took the form of the head of a lion, dark brownish-red flames creating a mane while bright, glowing yellow eyes stared at the hyena, an unamused look on its face. So, after watching thru to 'Mama Binturong', I'm convinced that a KionxFuli romance is the most likely romance we will see going forward.
With Ford Riley seemingly confirming that Janja has feelings for Jasiri, and with them joining their clans together, I don't think a KionxJasiri romance will pan out, especially not in this show, since we probably won't be seeing Jasiri again.
The other possibility people have obviously put forth is a KionxRani pairing. I don't think we'll be seeing thus either. Even though we are only a third of the way through the final season, and we still haven't been introduced to Rani, I doubt this pairing will happen.
Rani, from what we know, is the leader of the Night Pride, which I'm guessing and from what we saw in the trailer is a pride of lions that lives at the Tree of Life and presumably has dedicated itself to protecting it and the animals who come there.
So, while I think we may see some sort of crush between Kion and Rani, I imagine they'll have to part ways before long anyway. That leaves a KionxFuli pairing as the most likely.
She's the only one who will be traveling with Kion this whole journey, and the only one who will be returning with him and the Guard to the Pride Lands.
We've seen this season focus on Fuli to a significant degree even more than it focuses on Kion. We are seeing her interactions with Kion becoming more constant. She seems to be, by far, the most concerned with Kion, almost doting on him. She seems to much prefer to stay at his side, even when he's feeling fine.
And, of course, there is the look she had at the end of 'Battle of the Pridelands'. When they were leaving the Pridelands, she came up alongside him, and when he smiled at her, she looked away and down with an interesting look on her face. I could be reading too much into that, but I think it's foreshadowing something that will happen in the future. If not in this series, than in a later Lion King show or movie. I feel more like it is simple friendship and friendly concern she has shown. I would be shocked if any of the Guard were canonically shipped with each other.
Fuli's interactions with Azaad seemed to point more in the romantic interest direction to me. Also, there's the fact that a Kion and Fuli romance would be interspecies and that is not something I could see Disney approving, least of all on Disney Junior. FearTheBelle wrote: I feel more like it is simple friendship and friendly concern she has shown. I don't think there was anything romantic in their interaction.
And besides, its unlikely they will even see Azaad again, except perhaps on the journey back to the Pridelands. They are already pressuring Disney to make Timon and Pumbaa gay. And it sounds like Disney is going to go with it. Corporations are risk-averse when it comes to children's programming.
Anything that would be even slightly objectionable to any parents is probably going to be a hard sell. And LGBT relationships are far less taboo in today's world at least in the more secular parts of it than interspecies relations.
I could easily see that happening in one of their shows or movies for more mature audiences, and I'm sure it has; I could not in a million years see them doing the same with a cross-species romance.
Though, for the record, I doubt they would have a gay or lesbian relationship on Disney Junior, either.Hey everyone, back with another one. This one and the next three will all be requests. Keep 'em coming guys, love the reviews.
Bunga (The Lion Guard)
Don't like, don't read, don't flame. Now on with the show! Kion first person P. Zebras were running too close to the very edge of the cliff, below them, the hideous Outlands. Doing so caused rocks to fall into the came, witch eventually would cause an avalanche, crushing the lion hyena battle raging beneath.
Surprisingly, it worked. All zebras stopped and faced me. Within the raging war, I saw glimpses of familiar faces. I fought many hyenas, clawing and biting and punching my way through. I knocked around hyenas left and right, until a familiar voice let out a horrid scream. I turned and saw a hyena stab a sharp rock through her stomach.
I carried her all the way back to the cave where the Guard hangs out. I layed her down on the flat rock she loved to lie on, and got to work, carefully removing the rock, and bandaging her back up. I kissed her back, and wrapped my paws around her waist. She wrapped her paws around my neck, and we kissed for a full ten minutes. She nodded, and I pushed her onto her back, and lined my penis up with her vagina.
I entered slowly, and she moaned loudly. Just then, Janja walked in, smirking like mad. Janja clapped his paws and a boulder shut the entrance, sealing us in. I set my feet to do my roar, when Fuli stopped me. I nodded, but every thought going through my mind disagreed.

Some short time after his birth, Bunga's parents either died, abandoned him or got separated from him as he has no memory of them. In the episode "Bunga and the King", Bunga and Simba get stuck in a sinkhole and bond after learning about their shared connection of being raised by Timon and Pumbaa and consider each other to be "brothers".
